The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park (PPSRNP) is one of the most important biodiversity conservation areas of the Philippines. It features a spectacular limestone or karsts landscape that contains an 8.2 km long underground river. A distinguishing feature of the river is that it flows directly into the sea, and the lower half portion of the river is brackish and subject to tidal influence. The area also represents significant habitat for biodiversity conservation. It contains a full mountain to the sea ecosystem and protects forests, which are among the most significant in Asia.

One of the oldest churches in the Philippines is the Baclayon Church found in Bohol. Other old churches can be found in Cebu, Cagayan de Oro and many other areas in the Philippines. Baclayon Church also known as The Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception. The Jesuits initially made this church and has preserved a lot of its structure until the Augustinian Recollects added a modern look and more large stones which now surround the church.

Fort San Pedro in Cebu City is one of the oldest Spanish Forts in the Philippines. Work was stated in May 8, 1565 with Legaspi himself breaking the ground. The work of colonization had just begun and due to the hostility of the natives the Spaniards were compelled to build a fort. Most of the sporadic assaults and nighttime raids came from the sea so Legaspi constructed the fort by the shore. The name San Pedro was derived from Legaspi’s flagship in which sailed the Pacific Ocean in 1556.
